Jesus will help us to make sense of a world gone crazy:

Jesus Speaks 2 u part 3

..The kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” ~Jesus in Mat. 13:47-50

I was set to speak this week on this story Jesus told. Then come Friday morning when a shadow of grief gripped the whole world. I, as many of you watched in horror as the tragedy in Connecticut unfolded. Each hour brought more and more grim news from a place of instruction. Little ones looking forward to the holidays needlessly slaughtered, teachers, faculty… innocent blood spilled. It boggles the mind how anyone can justify such a cowardly and nefarious act.

The media tends to focus on the losses. I choose to praise God for the courageous act of teachers and staff that put themselves in harms way to save the survivors. Many are alive because they stood up, in spite of their own fears to save the precious children from creeping evil. Our hearts and prayers go out to the little victims’ families. As a father myself, I can only imagine what the parents of the lost must feel. Empty seats at the table for Hanukkah, or Christmas and New Years. A life sadly and suddenly ripped away…

President Obama Quotes the BibleAs our President quoted in his speech to the nation, “He (God) heals the brokenhearted & binds up their wounds.” (see Psalm 147:3)

The Holy Spirit bid me to carry on with this ‘dragnet’ message, as it will help to make sense of the world we live in and why these horrible events are unfolding on a regular basis. It is our creators’ words, speaking directly to us that we must hear especially in such a dark hour.

When Jesus came the first time His mission was to conquer sin and death. Mission accomplished. He also wanted us to cast our nets “into the sea and gathered some of every kind”.. Meaning spread the gospel to the world. Jesus told each one of us in His word, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Mat. 4:19 Are we fishing for family, co-workers, friends, enemies and school homies, etc.?

We may not have the luxury of hoping on a jet plane and evangelizing the entire globe one nation at a time.. however, what about those get togethers over the holidays? Would it hurt to gather the younger crowd and read to them Luke chapter 2? I wouldn’t ask you to do something I wasn’t doing myself. We do this every year since I was saved. How about an open discussion about how heaven won’t be heaven if your loved ones are not there?

Some Christ folk hate on Christmas. Passing it off as just another pagan, worldly stain on the calendar that is so far polluted that Christians have no business messing with it. If this is you, I ain’t mad at ya! Think on this thought: what if..this Christmas is just another opportunity to get them loved ones and even your haters saved?? What if you took this moment in time to share Jesus?Give the gift of Jesus this holiday season! If you separate yourself out, folks in the world don’t get that move. To them you’re just another religious person or a jerk. Real talk.

Get in their grill (face) and be about fishing & reeling them in. Jesus orders people. This ain’t no game.. Jesus conclusion is clear on this story, heavenly hosts in our not to distant future, at the last of the last days will gather ”the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

When the gospel mission is done, nets full…we know not the day nor hour but we do know that the judgment will complete the separation. It will be too late to share Jesus then. Those who are not saved, perish. You may say that such ‘n such a person does only good deeds.. it will not result in their admission to heaven my friends.  Only a relationship with Jesus can get that golden ticket. Think for a second on the person or persons that you know you will see over the holidays.. Now think about heaven without them there. It need not be so. Time to man up and if nothing else you planted a seed that will grow over time.  People need the Lord. Leave your inhibitions home this season because the time is short. When I see things like the mall shooting and scHAPPY 2013 from HeadzUp Fellowshiphool shootings it tells me that time is running out. God implores of us Christ followers, “Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!“ John 4:35 Don’t wait, take back from the enemy the souls he has stolen from our creator. If not you then who? Moses said to send another and God replied I send you. The maker of both heaven and earth says the same to us today. If you are hearing this message and want to make a commitment to Jesus and give Him the best gift we can, our life then please get at me or one of our HeadzUp Fellowship folk and we’d be glad to pray and help you. Finally, to the Parents and guardians, please hug & play with your kids. Make the time. None of us are guaranteed a tomorrow under the sun (Pro. 27:1).

May you and yours have the happiest of Christmas’s and a blessed and prosperous New Year.  See you in 2013 family! -by Pastor Pete Walker
